Master Brian Wetzel
Master Brian Wetzel's martial arts journey began unexpectedly when he enrolled his nephew at the American School of Martial Arts. After seeing the confidence and character his nephew gained, he was encouraged to join the adult class—a decision that changed his life. Now a 5th Degree Black Belt, Master Brian is dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where students of all ages can grow in confidence, discipline, and respect.
Master Robert Brown Jr
Master Robert Brown Jr. has trained at the American School of Martial Arts in West Palmdale for over 10 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, became the youngest Master in the history of the school's Suh Do Kwan system, and serves as the school's primary Tai Chi instructor. As a 5th Degree Black Belt, Master Robert combines analytical thinking with a patient teaching style, helping students develop strong fundamentals and lifelong confidence.
Master Terry James
With over 50 years of martial arts experience, Master Terry James began his journey in Chinese Kenpo Karate and has dedicated his life to the study and teaching of martial arts. A 5th Degree Black Belt in Suh Do Kwan Karate, he continues to share decades of knowledge, experience, and tradition while inspiring the next generation of martial artists. He also appeared in the opening scene of the classic martial arts film Enter the Dragon.
Instructor Gary Reyes
Gary Reyes has trained at the American School of Martial Arts since 2018 and has earned the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt through dedication, perseverance, and continuous improvement. For Gary, martial arts is about more than learning techniques—it's about developing discipline, respect, and helping others grow. Whether assisting with classes or training alongside fellow students, he strives to lead by example and represent the values of the American School of Martial Arts both inside and outside the dojo.
